School Life

  • Curriculum Enrichment

The children become involved in numerous activities that are intended to extend the learning they receive at school beyond the academic.

We aim to facilitate opportunities which develop the skills, talents and experiences of classes, groups and individuals.

Some of the ways in which we do this are:

Organising school trips, including a Primary Seven residential in Gartan, County Donegal.

We take pupils to a local pantomime at Christmas and invite drama groups into school. We also present a Primary Seven end of year show.

Children participate in shared work with other schools locally and internationally.

We make use of the local environment, Primary One children visit local shops, all classes visit our Woodland School.

Children are encouraged top participate in the Ballymena Speech Festival in the Second term.

The above are only some of the ways in which we enrich the learning of the children.
